There are three applicable formats for a resume; chronological, functional, or a combination of the two. The chronological format focuses on experience and lists it in chronological order of achievement. This format works best for a relatively older audience. 

A functional format focuses on skills. So your skills come first and the experience after. This format is the most ideal for first-time job seekers.

  1. Reference

Some employers may require you to include one or two references in your resume. Since you may not have held a job, you can add your tutor or a supervisor at a place you worked part-time. 

Remember to ask for permission before adding a person as a reference. If you do not have any referees in mind when writing your resume, you can simply write “References available on request.”
