Pedal Power kick-starts new Whizz-Kidz partnership with Kronos

Disabled children and young people’s charity Whizz-Kidz is delighted to announce workforce software provider Kronos Incorporated as its newest corporate partner.

The three-year partnership – which has already raised thousands of pounds to support Whizz-Kidz’s work – was kick-started with a series of fundraising cycling events at Kronos’ Bracknell location.

Kronos team members Steve Gracey, Rob Hiron and Paul Richardson (pictured) opened proceedings with a 24-hour static bike ride, ahead of an organisation-wide cycling challenge.

Between them, Steve, Rob and Paul clocked up an impressive 1,000km, which rocketed to 4,000km with the combined efforts of the wider Kronos team. Incredibly, Steve was single-handedly responsible for a massive 809km.

The partnership was formally launched at a special Kronos event, attended by Whizz-Kidz’s Kidz Board Chair, George Fielding.

Commenting on the new partnership, George Fielding said:

“Whizz-Kidz is absolutely thrilled to welcome Kronos into our family; as its impressive efforts on the static bike have shown, its commitment to supporting our work is without question!

“We’re grateful not only to those members of staff who’ve risked saddle sores to support our work, but to everyone at Kronos who’s given their time and skills to raise money! Together Whizz-Kidz and Kronos can make an enormous difference to the lives of disabled children and young people across the UK.”

Through this new partnership, Kronos hopes not only to transform the lives of disabled children and young people by raising money to support Whizz-Kidz’s mobility equipment and life-skills services, the company also plan to offer work placements to help young disabled people develop invaluable employment skills.

Stephan Van Herck, vice president, EMEA, Kronos said:

“The Kronos team is delighted to be partnering with Whizz-Kidz; we feel that as a charity its values are aligned very closely with our own, so the opportunity to work alongside the organisation to change the lives of disabled children in the UK was impossible to pass up. The team here has already shown how committed they are to making this partnership a success; we look forward to continuing to have fun raising valuable funds to help make a difference to young people around the UK!”
